On 20 April 2016 the Fairfax County Planning Commission held a public hearing on Fairfax Forward, a new process for periodically updating the Comprehensive Plan. HRVCA testimony recommended that the process be amended to include a mandatory process for citizen participation.
HRVCA President, Clyde Miller, submitted a personal comment emphasizing the need for citizen participation as a means for assuring transparency, checks, and balances in the Fairfax Forward process.
The HRVCA testimony is at the 45 minute mark on the video record of the hearing.
The commission has asked county staff to continue development of the Fairfax Forward process and provide a progress report on 15 Sep.
