On 25 May 2016 the Fairfax County Planning Commission held a public hearing on a county proposal to amend the zoning ordinance to allow very high-density developments, up to 5.0 floor area ratios, at Seven Corners as well as in Annandale and much of Bailey’s Crossroads.
HRVCA testimony opposed the amendment on the grounds that the county had not demonstrated a need for the change, the broad scope of the amendment threatens to damage communities, and it is opposed by the large majority of citizens responding to the proposal. The testimony was accompanied by a six-page paper substantiating the association’s concerns.
The HRVCA testimony is at 1 hr. 8 min. (1:08) on the video record of the hearing.
The commission plans to announce their decision regarding the amendment on 15 June.
